Australian basketball forward Chloe Bibby's 2025 WNBA campaign is the true definition of perseverance and resilience.
The 27-year-old Victorian did absolutely everything she could to play in the 14 games she did for the Golden State Valkyries and Indiana Fever before succumbing to a season-ending knee injury.
- February 5: Signed to a training camp contract with the Valkyries
- May 14: Waived by the Valkyries during training camp
- June 15: Re-signed with the Valkyries during the season.
- June 30: Waived again by the Valkyries.
- July 25: Signed by the Indiana Fever to a seven-day contract.
- August 1: Signs with the Fever for the remainder of the 2025 season.
- August 22: Listed as "out" on the pre-game injury report (left knee).
- September 4: Indiana Fever revealed Bibby would miss the rest of the season. He knee had swollen and it wasn't responding to treatment.
basketball.com.au contributor Hayley Wildes described Bibby's first game for the Valkyries at the end of July as "electric".
"In her WNBA regular season debut, Bibby was electric as the Valkyries defeated the Indiana Fever, 88-77. Bibby played 24 minutes and finished with 12 points (4/9 FG) and 3 rebounds, showcasing her outside shooting with a pair of triples. A few days later, she again proved valuable for Golden State as they dominated Connecticut, 87-63, finishing with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 20 minutes of action," Wildes wrote.
Through it all, Bibby shot 40.5% from three, 89% from the free throw line and averaged almost five points per game and two rebounds in 11 minutes per game.

Performance Trends
- Hot Stretch: June run with Golden State, posting 11 and 12 points in back-to-back games.
- Cold Stretch: August spell with Indiana, where she went scoreless in 3 straight games.
- Consistency: Streaky shooter, but high-value when her three-ball is falling.
Impact & Role
- Offensive Role: Catch-and-shoot forward, spacing the floor for bigs.
- Defensive Role: Active hands (0.6 steals per game), though undersized for rebounding at the 4.
- Team Impact: Depth scorer, fit well in Indiana’s playoff-bound roster.
Outlook
- Future Role: Potential to carve out a niche as a three-and-D forward. If she maintains 40% from deep, could solidify a long-term bench role in the WNBA. We all know she is one of the most determined women's basketball players in Australia, hopefully 2026 will be the breakout year for Bibby where she solidifies a roster spot on a WNBA team from the start of the season ... she definitely deserves it.
