Queenslander Amarco Doyle has committed to the New Mexico State Aggies.

Queensland forward Amarco Doyle has committed to New Mexico State Aggies for the 2025-2026 season.

Doyle, who competed for the Mount Gambier Pioneers in the 2025 NBL1 South competition, joins the Aggies as a sophomore after a dominant freshman season in junior college competing for the College of Southern Idaho (CSI).

The forward was a revelation for CSI in his first year of college basketball. Coming in with a reputation as a versatile, defensive forward, Doyle managed to live up to his reputation whilst spearheading production on the offensive end, leading the team with 14.8 points per game, including a blistering 55.9% from the field and 50% from the three point line.

Doyle now makes a big jump to play for New Mexico State in Conference USA (CUSA).

The Aggies welcome Doyle’s addition after finishing with a 17-15 record last season, the second under Head Coach Jason Hooten.

"We feel truly fortunate to add Amarco at this stage of the recruiting process," Hooten said.

"His ability to shoot the three at an elite level is exactly what we needed at that position. Combined with his basketball IQ, experience, and floor-stretching ability, Amarco gives us another key piece to round out our roster. Heading into the season, I believe we now have every facet covered."

As a junior, Doyle represented Queensland at Australian Junior Championships from his top age Under 18 season in 2022, including being part of the Queensland team that finished silver to Victoria in the nail-biting 2024 U20 Gold Medal match.

Shooting 31% from three at the 2024 U20 Nationals, and 27% in 2023 as a bottom-ager the year prior, Doyle’s impressive freshman season shooting the three (50%) quickly elevated Doyle’s market as a stretch-forward, drawing interest from a variety of Division 1 programs.
